About Loestrin: Review of Loestrin and how it helps birth control

When using Loestrin birth control pill, you don't have to deal with the blood test in order to get periods that last for just 3 days. Unlike other birth control pills that only features two hormones, namely, progestin and estrogen, Loestrin also contains ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone acetate.

Loestrin is a lower dose birth control pill that contains around 50 mcg of estrogen. Because of this, one can safely say that Loestrin is quite safe in nature and you do not have to worry about any side effects. For effective birth control, Food and Drug Administration has already given an approval to Loestrin. If you are using any other birth control pill and want to make a switch to Loestrin, consult your health care provider first. Only take one pill of Loestrin each day. If possible, take it in same time every day. For example, if you prefer taking dose of Loestrin first thing in the morning, make sure that you stick to it throughout the duration of course. When you do this, you minimize the possibility of spotting between periods and breakthrough bleeding.

Some of the side effects associated with Loestrin are mentioned below :

  • Breast tenderness
  • Weight gain
