How Fioricet Works ?
Role of Fioricet
One of the medications that are used for treating tension headaches is Fioricet. It is believed to function on the basis of restricting the flow of impulses to the brain. This is because the brain is the organ through which pain can actually be felt; without it pain would not be experienced no matter how severe an injury. What Fioricet does is restrict the impulses that cause muscles to be relaxed when no or less pain is experienced.
Fioricet is used to treat muscle injuries
of the neck, shoulders and head. Its
main ingredients include: acetaminophen,
caffeine, and a barbiturate, that
work together to produce the best
relief possible.
Acetaminophen primarily works to relieve
one of pain and reduce fever. Caffeine
has the ability to constrict blood
vessels, thereby reducing blood flow
in areas such as the head. This is
how pain in the head is reduced.
The barbiturate in Fioricet helps to relax muscles. This helps to reduce pain and is also a response to the restriction of impulses to the brain.
Fioricet is to be consumed exactly according to your doctor’s prescription. This is because the doctor is the best one to determine what quantity and dosage is suitable for you. Each dose of Fioricet is to be taken with a glass of water. No doses are to be missed out on. If you happen to miss out on a dose, do not try and make up for it and never double dose in attempting to make up for the missed out dose. You are advised to skip the missed dose altogether and move on to the next dose at its scheduled time.

alcohol, as it also increases the
chances of drowsiness.
You should avoid operating heavy machinery
or driving vehicles when taking Fioricet.

may cause one to lose his or her concentration.
