How Levitra Works

Erectile Dysfunction One of the most psychologically demoralizing conditions that men can experience is Erectile Dysfunction. This is because of the fact that a man’s sexuality is most important to him. Without his sexuality he loses self esteem and cannot think highly of himself. Often a man fears people getting to learn about his disorder, as society as a whole laughs at those with problems related to sexuality. However, one’s sexuality and problems with it are no laughing matter, which is why a medicine such as Levitra has been manufactured.

What is Levitra and how does it Act?
Men are supposed to use only one pill of Levitra every 24 hours. Levitra inhibits the action of the enzyme, phosphodiesterase-5, or PDE-5. Inhibiting this action of the enzyme results in the penis muscles relaxing, thereby ameliorating the flow of blood. It is when this flow of blood changes that an erection becomes possible.

Levitra is to be consumed at least one hour before sexual intercourse. By taking levitra one hour before planned intercourse does not mean that there will be an automatic erection. An erection only occurs when there is sufficient stimulation.

How to Use Levitra
Levitra has to be carefully consumed; you should make sure you do not consume it along with grape fruit juice. In fact, it is better for you to be aware of what you are consuming when you want to have Levitra. You should be aware of what food substances you consume because some foods that you consume might have grape fruit as one of its contents.
Usually it is better to take Levitra on prescription because of each man’s body adapting differently.

For example, some men are limited to taking one Levitra pill every 72 hours.

Side Effects of Levitra
During sexual activity, you should seek a doctor’s help if you experience:

• Angina: pain, discomfort, numbness, etc in the arms, neck, chest, or jaw),
• nausea,
• dizziness,

While using Levitra, if your erection exceeds more than four hours, you should also tell your doctor.

Levitra Interactions
You should not consume Levitra if you are currently consuming medicines that might react with its action. You should tell your doctor if you are currently taking medicines that contain:

• erythromycin,
• nitrate medications (nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate),
• nitroprusside ("nitric oxide donors"),
• cimetidine,
• azole antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole),
• mibefradil,
• rifamycins (rifampin)
• medications for high blood pressure.

Levitra is a medicine consumed according to one’s need. Therefore, there isn’t any such thing as a missed dose. However, you should not take this medication more than once a day.
