Role of Loestrin:
Loestrin is a medication that is taken
to prevent pregnancy. The active ingredients
in this drug are estrogen and progestin,
which helps to prevent you from getting
pregnant through controlling the menstrual
cycle. Your doctor may use this medicine
to help solve other conditions as
well. As with all medications, you
should use Loestrin very carefully
and only when it is prescribed by
a physician should it be taken. You

This medication is not meant for people
who smoke as the chances of having
diseases related to the heart are
immensely increased.
Precautions:
You are advised not to smoke while
taking these medications; the possibility
of heart problems is greatly increased
for women who are over thirty five
and smoke on average of fifteen cigarettes
a day. If you are taking medications
such as benzodiazepines, corticosteroids,
and medications for beta blockers,
you would need to have a close monitoring
done to see if the medications do
not interact.
There are also cases of women of
getting dark patches on their facial
skin. These marks which are commonly
known as Melasma, gets more serious
when you are exposed to the sun. If
you do get Melasma, try spending more
time indoors than outdoors and avoid
relaxing under sunlamps.

who wear contact lenses, have had
their vision deteriorate more than
ever before. One thing that many should
be very careful of while using this
medication is that it should never
be used during pregnancy. Loestrin
is passed through breast milk and
would prove to be very dangerous for
the child. One important factor to
remember is that any birth control
pills do not stop diseases, which
are sexually transmitted.
Dosage:
The Loestrin pill comes with an instruction
sheet that provides a very detailed
description of the medication. One
should always read these instructions
very carefully before taking them.
