Why have there been Neurontin lawsuits ?

Neurontin can be bought at :

A consumer protection lawsuit was filed against Pfizer Pharmaceuticals by the doctors on the behalf of all California citizens who were led astray about the product called “Zoloft”. The case was won on the 14th of May 2004 when Pfizer declared themselves guilty in a federal court. They pleaded guilty because of the unlawful promotion and marketing of Neurontin, which was preceded by Warner-Lambert. In settlement of the lawsuit, Pfizer paid four hundred and thirty million dollars as settlement.

After the case was over, many more lawsuits were filed against the manufacturer of Neurontin. Some major reasons for Neurontin lawsuits include the following:

• There have been many Neurontin lawsuits by patients claiming to suffer from severe depression and drowsiness. The adverse effects a patient encounters during the course of this medication, serves as a basis for Neurontin Lawsuits. Since these problems are not made clear to the patients from the developer of these medications who failed to project the danger of this medication to its user, a patient has every right to claim against the company

• The charges brought against the pharmaceutical company Parke-Davis was that marketing plans contained ‘uses’ of the drug that were not approved by the Food and Drug administration.

• The lawsuit further reveals that the company had clinical tests done but were done on a very small scale. This was just to fulfill the purpose of getting encouraging results so that they could get articles written up in medical journals.

• There have been several Neurontin lawsuits by patients who claim that the manufacturers of Neurontin falsely promoted their medications despite being aware of its damaging side effects. Neurontin production to generate illegal revenue is one of the major bases on which Neurontin law suits are filed. The company can be challenged in court in this regard, and the patient can hire appropriate lawyers to aid him/her proceed with a claim.

Statistical accounts that amount to approximately 1.8 billion dollars worth of Neurontin were sold in the year 2001. Around 80% of the total money spent on the drug was all used for treatments that were not approved by the FDA. If a patient feels that the medication caused him or her severe harm, s/he should seek help from a lawyer and seek help in the legal process.
