Ingredients
of Triphasil
Triphasil comes in three tablets
each meant for three different
phases of the medication. These
tablets with their ingredients
are discussed below.
Each Triphasil cycle of 28
tablets consists of three different
drug phases as follows:
Phase 1 comprised of 6 brown
tablets, each containing
• 0.050 mg of levonorgestrel
(d(-)-
• 13 beta-ethyl-17-
• alpha-ethinyl-
• 17-beta-hydroxygon-4-en-3-one),
• a totally synthetic
progestogen, and
• 0.030 mg of ethinyl
estradiol (19-nor-17a-pregna-1,3,5(10)-trien-20-yne-3,
17-diol);
Phase 2 comprises of 5 white
tablets, each containing
• 0.075 mg levonorgestrel
and
• 0.040 mg ethinyl estradiol;
Phase 3 comprised of 10 light-yellow
tablets, each containing
• 0.125 mg levonorgestrel
and
• 0.030 mg ethinyl estradiol;
These are then followed by
7 light-green inert tablets.
Which indicate the sign that
a normal menstruation can be
followed and that a new pack
to be bought.
The inactive ingredients present
in all of the tablets for the
different phases are
• cellulose,
• FD&C Blue 1,
• iron oxides,
• lactose,
• magnesium stearate,
• polacrilin potassium,
• polyethylene glycol,
• titanium dioxide, and
• hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
Chemistry
of Triphasil
The drugs that are taken here
can have adverse effects on
people who are taking medications
which are being taken to cure
illness that are in existence.
Some of the medications that
one needs to be aware of are:
• Modafinil
• Mycophenolate
• Nefazodone
• Oxcarbazepine
• Phenytoin
• Prednisolone
• Ritonavir or other medicines
for the treatment of the HIV
virus or AIDS
If you are taking any of these
medication physicians help and
advice should be taken. The
list is not limited to the one
that is mentioned. In the event
of an individual is undergoing
a surgery the drugs should be
discontinued, the same goes
for the case if you are planning
to get pregnant or suspect of
it.
Dosage
using Triphasil
The dosages that are available
come in three different packages
there are the 21 day schedule,
28 day schedule and the 94 day
schedule. The dosage differs
individually and will be recommended
by ones physician. The principle
of taking these medication is
that it is to start a day after
the menstruation cycle is over
and should be consumed approximately
at the same time when first
started.
Since these are also used in
the cure of other sexual hormone
problems, it is highly advised
to wait for a period of three
to six months for some effect
to come into existence. If there
any of the side effects that
show up or things do not feel
right, the medication should
be immediately stopped and reported
to the doctor.
Triphasil should be stored
in a cool dry place and should
always be kept away from children.
