relief of muscle pain and stiffness.

Carisoprodol belongs to is called
‘muscle relaxants’.
The medication is available
in the form of a pill, and contains
N-isopropyl-2-methyl-2-propyl-1,3-propanediol
dicarbamate, which is the main
ingredient.

ingredient is that it is white
in color and is crystalline.
This main ingredient is slightly
soluble in water, but is readily
soluble in alcohol. The inactive
ingredients that are present
in Carisoprodol tablets are:
• alginic acid
• magnesium stearate
• potassium sorbate
• starch
• tribasic

Before using this medication,
you should be aware that it
should be taken on the advice
of your doctor. While you are
consulting your doctor, you
should tell him or her everything
about your medical condition.
Some of the conditions that
you need to tell your doctor
about include allergies to the
main ingredient of Carisoprodol
or any other allergies to medications.
If you are planning to get
pregnant or are pregnant, your
doctor should be informed, as
the ingredients could pass in
breast milk and could harm the
nursing child. A doctor’s
advice should be consulted before
giving this medication to children.
The major chemical activity
of this medication of Carisoprodol
takes place in the liver and
is excreted out of the body
through the kidneys. Therefore,
this medication should not be
given to people who have liver
or kidney problems. The medication
is also not meant for people
who are using a monoamine Oxidase
inhibitor.
If you develop unexpected
symptoms that occur while you
are consuming Carisoprodol,
you should notify your doctor
immediately.
The use of Carisoprodol causes
you to feel drowsy, less alert
and have blurred vision. If
you work in places which require
your constant attention, such
as driving or working on heavy
machines, you should be extra
careful or avoid putting yourself
at risk.
Dosage
The dosage of this medication
will be advised by your doctor.
The average dosage that is given
to patients is one 350 mg tablet
thrice a day. The medication
should be consumed with food
or milk to avoid stomach upsets.
If you happen to miss a dose,
take it as soon as you remember
it. However, if by the time
you remember the dose it is
too close to your next dose,
you should skip it and continue
with the next scheduled dose.
Never double the dosage under
any circumstances. Carisoprodol
should not be taken for longer
periods than the doctor has
prescribed.
