Ingredients
LEXAPRO is used by adults only
who suffer from depressions
and GAD (Generalized Anxiety
Disorder). This medication is
known for its tolerance and
effectiveness. The main ingredient
in the Lexapro pill is Escitalopram,
which is found in most medications
that help you to control depression
and anxiety. Escitalopram comes
as a slight yellow or a fine
white powder. It is easily soluble
in methanol and dimethyl sulfoxide
(DMSO).
LEXAPRO is available as a tablet
and as an oral solution that
have the inactive ingredient
mentioned below:
LEXAPRO tablets
• Sorbitol,
• Purified Water,
• Citric Acid,
• Sodium Citrate,
• Malic Acid,
• Glycerin,
• Propylene Glycol,
• Methylparaben,
• Propylparaben, and
• Natural Peppermint Flavor.
Lexapro pills come in three
strengths of escitalopram base:
5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg
LEXAPRO oral solution

The escitalopram oxalate which
is present in the solution is

Chemistry
LEXAPRO should be taken as
directed by your doctor; the
tablet should not be taken in
excessive amounts or over an
extended period. LEXAPRO may
have to be taken for as long
as a week or a month to see
any significant effects on your
health.
Before taking LEXAPRO, if you
using any of the following,
you need to tell your doctor
about them:
Alcohol: The use of alcohol
is strongly advised against;
it should not be consumed while
having LEXAPRO.
You should not take medications
that have Escitalopram in them.
While taking LEXAPRO, the use
of other medicines, which contain
Escitalopram, should be avoided.
If you are on Monoamine oxidase
(MAO) inhibitor, phenelzine,
procarbazine [e.g., Matulane]
or selegiline, you should consult
your doctor before consuming
LEXAPRO.
Dosage
The dosage for both the oral
solution and the tablet depends
on what the doctor has prescribed
for you. The recommended dosage
for the tablet is one tablet
a day of 10mg, taken either
in the morning or in the evening.
This dosage is for patients
who are suffering from anxiety
and depression, and is also
the same for the oral solution.
The dosage may gradually be
increased on the advice of your
doctor.
If you miss a dose, you should
consult your doctor, as s/he
will be the best one to advise
you.
Lexapro pills should be kept
away from children and should
be stored in a place that is
free from moisture and heat.
This is because these conditions
can cause the ingredients in
the medicatiom to breakdown.
