in Seasonale
Seasonale comes in various
packing which is decided by
the physician on which package
is best for you. Each of these
medicine packages that is bought
consists of two kinds of tablets,
one is pink in color and the
other in white. The pink tablet
is taken normally and the seven
white tablets act as a warning
that one needs to buy more if
the need arises.
There are two active ingredients
in Seasonale called Ethinyl
Estradiol and Levonorgestrel
both which produces estrogen
and progesterone respectively
which is quite similar to the
sexual hormones found in women.
Given below are the ingredients
of both tablets.
Each pink active tablet contains
the following inactive ingredients:
• Anhydrous Lactose NF,
• FD&C blue no. 1,
• FD&C red no. 40,
• Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
USP,
• Microcrystalline Cellulose
NF,
• Polyethylene Glycol
NF,
• Magnesium Stearate NF,
• Polysorbate 80 NF, and
• Titanium Dioxide USP.
Each white inert tablet contains
the following inactive ingredients:
• Anhydrous Lactose NF,
• Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose
USP,
• Microcrystalline Cellulose
NF, and
• Magnesium Stearate NF.
Chemistry
of Seasonale
Seasonale should not be taken
when having other medications
at the same time. Some medications
interact with Seasonale and
should be avoided. Some of the
medicines that one should avoid
while consuming Seasonale are
• Bosentan
• Carbamazepine
• Clofibrate
• Cyclosporine
• Dantrolene
Dosage
of Seasonale
Seasonale is to be had once
in a day and should be remembered
to be consumed daily at the
same time. If a dosage is missed
then it should be taken the
next time. However, if the time
the last dosage was taken exceeds
more than seventy two hours
it is then advisable to discontinue
and seek medical aid.
The packing of medicines that
is offered are in packs for
a 21, 28 or a 94 day schedule.
It is important to start the
medication on the scheduled
day that you have decided on.
There is also some side effect
that is associated with this
drug. Some of them which should
be observed are severe pains
in the stomach, uneasiness,
numbness, weakness which is
felt in different parts of the
body, difficulty in coordinating
with certain parts of the body
this phenomenon which is felt
in one side of the body.
In the case of one taking these
medications for the treatments
of other cures other than the
prevention of pregnancy and
ovulation some time is needed
to see the desired symptoms
and effects.
